The main problem with high protein diets is getting enough Calcium

to excreet the Phosphorous with. When protein is used as fuel, so

to speak, the left over Phosphorous has to be discarded. The body

does this as Calcium Phosphide which of necessity consumes Calcium

which is often in scarce supply.

 

Carnivores of course solve this problem by eating all of their prey:

Meat and Bones and thus gets a balanced diet.....enough Calcium from

the bones to balance out the phosphorous. Humans for the most part

carefully separate the meat from the bones and discard the needed

Calcium and then suffer and suffer

 

So, there is really nothing the matter with high protein diets as

long as they come with enough Calicium .....which very few do
