Someone commented earlier that a few of us--ok a lot of us--with

medical problems might use ourselves as lab rats.

Occasionally the only way one discovers if a touted vitamin or mineral is

snake oil or useful is by making that personal lab rat decision.

I am a diabetic. On the listserves I belong to, chromium is either touted

as a wonder drug or accused of being a terrible waste of money.

I requested, from my endo, a test to see if perhaps it might help me-he

told me that such a test would be worthless.

So I tested it on myself.

When I take chromium, my bg's are lower, when I dont they rise.

I am a fairly analitical person (even if I can't spell tonight).

I don't believe it is, for me, snake oil and I do believe it helps me keep

my blood glucose levels lower.

BTW-I also am taking 800IU of vitamin E to attempt to delay the onset of

heart disease symptoms-another contriversial decision.

I also take a multi trace mineral twice daily and I don't sell any of these

products.

The person I buy them from sells to me at her cost.
