I must also add another angle when answering your question. Two people may
eat identical meals with the exact % of kcal from fat, carbs, and protein
(even alcohol ), but not absorb the same amount of energy. No two people have
the same digestion system which can vastly affect the absorption of energy
from foods. One person may have a nervous stomach or lactose intolerance which
can alter the time food stays in the digestion system and thus the %
absorbed. This differs in people in good health as well as people suffering
from certain disease states.
